Hasselbeck a True Teammate

Xaverian alumnus and three-time NFL Pro Bowl quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was featured in a recent USA TODAY article about his ability to be a mentor on and off the field. When Jake Locker was named the starting quarterback of the Tennessee Titans, Hasselbeck immediately took the 24 year old under his wing.
Locker thanked Hasselbeck for his guidance during an interview last week, prompting former mentee and current ESPN commentator Trent Dilfer to recall when Matt Hasselbeck played a key role in his life.

 “I know what kind of man Matthew Hasselbeck is,” said Dilfer. “There’s a lot more to learn, and Matthew Hasselbeck can teach Jake Locker things that transcend football that will change his life for the better. “The man has such a soul, such a heart … (he) truly is one of the greatest people in the NFL.” And that’s not just Dilfer heaping praise on a buddy. Summer Baseball Clinic

 

Campers at last week’s  Xaverian summer baseball clinic listened intently to two-time D1 State Champion Coach Gerry Lambert. 

Campers honed their fielding skills on the Xaverian fieldturf.

Campers also practiced situational baseball during scrimmages. Xaverian Head Junior Varsity Coach Jon Kelly looks on during an at-bat.

Mr. Lewis delivers a talk to more than 130 seniors during day one of the Xaverian Leadership Institute (XLI).
