Dunk The Dean!

Peter Sheridan '12 and Will Channell '14 are two of the many Xaverian students who hope to dunk the Dean at Sunday's Purple & White charity event.

Students from Xaverian and Ursuline will join forces this Sunday at the first annual Purple and White Football Game. One of the main attractions of this charity event is called “Dunk The Dean”.

Xaverian’s Dean, Mr. Vasta will be at the mercy of his students, perched just a few feet above the icy waters of a carnival dunk tank. Students can try and dunk Dean Vasta by throwing a ball at a target. Prices are $2 for one try, and $5 for three tries. If a ball hits the target, Mr. Vasta will be dunked.

When asked about Sunday’s dunk tank, Mr. Vasta laughed and replied “I might wear my most expensive suit and my favorite pair of shoes, because nobody will come close to dunking me!”

With the weather forecast predicting temperatures in the low 60’s and a cool breeze, lets hope Mr. Vasta is right.

What: 1st Annual Purple and White football game to benefit My Brother’s Keeper. Ursuline Juniors and Seniors will compete on the field, and some Xaverian juniors and seniors boys will perform a cheerleading halftime show created and coached by Ursuline girls.

Where: XBHS Hawk Bowl

When: This Sunday at Noon

How Much: $10 to enter the game and includes food (burgers/hot dogs/chips/soda).

Don’t Forget: During halftime, there will also be a Fast Pitch throw game, a moon bounce and the highly anticipated ‘Dunk the Dean’ dunk tank.  We’ll be hosting a cook out after the game.
