All of Xaverian has been buzzing over freshman phenom Vladamir Kovalenko -The Russian Rocket. The freshman who just moved this Fall from Slovetchenya has been clocked on radar throwing over 102 mph–faster than many pros!
However Coach Gerry Lambert is trying to calm everyone down. “He’s never even played a season of Little League and is just learning the rules to the game let alone how to pitch,” said Lambert. “He will need at least a full year until he can contribute. Let’s all remember he needs to learn to throw strikes before we can put him in Cooperstown. With that said, his potential is staggering because the 15 year old is throwing an unhittable baseball at the pro level and has only been working with legendary pitching coach Sidd Finch for two weeks.”
Vlads parents moved here from the Ukraine this August after his father took a job at the nearby Raytheon Technology Company. His golden arm was discovered in a recent dodgeball tournament.
Here’s a video of the 6’3″ Vlad’s 102 mile per hour missle!
